"Aquitania works wonders!
A work of haunting beauty.
An inventive synthesis of stage, dance and song"
-Los Angeles Times
Ziggurat Theatre Ensemble, now in residence in Bowdoinham, Maine, is holding auditions for Aquitania, opening July 5, 2012.
Aquitania is about a librarian who is transported in time to a remote kingdom and who must match wits with an evil tyrant. Magic spells, rituals and plot reversals abound as our heroine learns that, like Alice in Wonderland, she must adopt a new kind of logic to save the day.

Available roles:
Girl (age 9-12) Likeable and spunky girl
Malagigi (Male, age 40ish) Charming, refined, philosophic tutor
Roland (Male, age 20-30) Dandified hero-in-the-making
Bradamante (Female, age 40-60) Aristocratic lady of the court
Gano (Male, age 30-60) Villain extraordinaire
Singing chorus (Female, age 20-30) Three singers who sing in a variety of muscial styles in tight, intricate harmonies. Also perform in scenes as comic servants.

"The latest bit of ultrastylized surrealism from writer-director Stephen Legawiec’s Ziggurat Theater Ensemble, Aquitania is nothing less than a feast of dance, music, classic storytelling and visual bravura that will dazzle."
- LA Weekly
