Originally from Colombia, S.A., Luis has worked in both England and the United States. He is a graduate of the classical acting program of the London Academy of Performing Arts, England. London theatre credits include Tales from the Vienna Woods at The Gate Theatre, a London Schools tour of Twelfth Night, and also As You Like It, Macbeth, and de Vega’s Peribanez and the Comendador of Ocana.
In Los Angeles, TV/film work includes principal roles on General Hospital, Strong Medicine, and American Family. Theatre includes The Merchant of Venice at Pasadena Shakespeare, and Lorca’s Yerma and Blood Wedding at the Bilingual Foundation of the Arts. His devotion to the classics is evident as a resident artist with the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble where he performed the roles of Faust in Faust Projekt and Siddhartha in The Buddha’s Night, adaptations from the classics of Johann W. Goethe and Hermann Hesse, respectively. Major productions with Ziggurat Theatre include Twilight World, an epic adaptation of tales from Ovid’s Metamorphosis, and Red Thread, a tale from Tang dynasty China and the most nominated production of the year in 2002 by the Los Angeles Critic’s Association. He is a founding member of the Ziggurat Theatre Company.
