The newest member of the company, Lorin Eric Salm made his Ziggurat debut as the speechless Vava in Maria Morevna, and appeared most recently in The Last Days of Tarquinz. Also a Theatrical Mime artist, he brings his movement skills to bear in all his work in stage, film, and television.
Lorin began his study of the art of Mime twenty-five years ago, eventually leading him to France where he studied with the great master Marcel Marceau for three years, graduating from Marceau’s Ecole Internationale de Mimodrame de Paris. In addition to performing, Lorin is a respected instructor of Theatrical Mime and movement, coaching actors for theatre, film, and television; conducting workshops for performers in Cirque du Soleil and for animation artists at Walt Disney, DreamWorks, and Sony Imageworks; and conducting regular workshops at his own Mime Theatre Studio in Los Angeles. He received a B.A. in Theatre Arts from California State University, Northridge.
Lorin’s performing has taken him from Paris and Israel to New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. His recent and notable roles include those in Beauty and the Beast at the Wadsworth Theater, the 2006 Sci-Fi Channel film House of the Dead 2, and in the other Ziggurat productions Salamanticus and Journal of the Plague Year.
